Question by Everly L: I want to start a new fitness plan & lose 15-20 lbs?
I want to lose 15-20 by Thanksgiving. I have the diet part pretty much down. I’m wondering is it a good idea to exercise 2-3 x’s a day or is that excessive. Any suggestions?

You and me both I just started a month ago and I work out 5-6 days a week alternating cardio and lifting.

    How long are you planning on exercising per session per day?

    I exercise 2x per day, everyday, and average around 1.5 hours of exercise per day. My morning exercise is usually only 20-30 minutes, where my evening exercise is 50-60 minutes (averages only). If I have trouble doing 20-30 mins in my morning session, I may exercise 3x that day, each time 20-30 minutes. Still leaving me with my end result of 1-1.5 hours.

    If you plan to exercise for one hour, 2-3 times per day, yes, I think that is excessive. If you were going to exercise FOUR times a day, 15 minutes per ‘session’ per day, I do not think that is excessive.

    So it depends how long you plan to exercise at each time per day.

    try to do at least half an hour of cardiovascular work each day (either jogging, swimming or cycling)
    toning: 50 sit-ups twice a day, 50 push ups, 100 lunges, 50 squats
    if you can join any exercise classes do it
    exercise first thing in the morning (before food) & last thing at night

    Hey buddy, so I am a personal trainer and this was my workout plan when I was young to lose about 20 pounds. Mon Wed Fri do 30 min of cardio, on Tues Thur do 25 min of interval training and on Sat and Sun do any fat-loss workout you can find online. Could be anywhere from 5 min to 45 min. Also here are some bonus eating tips. Eat on smaller plates because it looks like you have more food and you end up eating less. Also drink 2 8 oz cups of water before every meal. Water makes you feel more full. Hope this helps and good luck!

    okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess toxins in your blood or fat to lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:

    Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
    eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a food/rice steamer to make it easy on you)…(vegetables might not seem “tasty”, like junk foods, at first,,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)…avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc…and drink water . If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.

    also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.

    * you should lose about 10 lbs per month

    What you need to do is get ZUMBA… if you have not heard of it just go to zumba.com and it will explain alot of things…. it is wonderful…. and it has fitness plans written out for you each day……. and they tell you on the fitness videos what areas it helps… which is all around when you add them all together….
