Question by New Life: Can eating junk food once a week mess up your fitness/diet plan if you work out 3 times a week?
I’m starting to work out three times a week and I’m having a craving for something tasty rather than just drinking water to get that “full” feeling. If I eat a bag of cookies now, will that ruin my previous progress?

Answer by BabeHart
An occasional treat is fine…but that would be a serving of cookies, not a bag…it’s okay to treat yourself, in fact you SHOULD to keep from just tossing the healthy plan and going binge-out on junk food, but be reasonable and don’t pig-out on garbage simply because you are tired of “drinking water”…

Instead of water to help you feel full, how about a grapefruit (a whole large one has under 45 calories) or a medium apple (around 90 calories)…those things can be filling, are low in calories, and darned sure better for you than a bag of cookies (although I understand the appeal of the cookies, trust me!!!)…

It’s your fitness plan and you should do what you want to do…but being a little “naughty” will have much less effect on reaching or maintaining your goals than being a lot “naughty”…

Question by Kendall Nicole: Will this diet and fitness plan work for me?
I am 5’1 and weigh 120 pounds. I don’t think I am fat…just “healthier” then I wanna be. If I do a low carb diet…eggs for breakfast, grilled chicken, veggies etc. for lunch and dinner. PLUS running 3 miles 3-4 times a week….CAN i lose 7-10 by april 24th? Any advice, tips etc.???

Answer by SassyLassy
Possibly. But everyone’s body is different. It really depends on how you metabolise foods and what type of frame you have. Also what is your body fat %? It also depends on how fast your run those 3 miles. On your alternate non-running days consider doing yoga or pilates. That will help tremendously. If you workout 6-days a week, make sure you have 1 day of rest where you don’t workout at all. Your body needs recovery time which is extremely important.

Sounds like you are approaching it sensibly.

Question by R3d EYe5 DaRKn35S DraG0N Ma5T3R: Can someone help me work out a fitness plan?
I’m 13, 5″1- 5″2 and 154 Lbs.
I can wake up early if I have to, I have a stationary bicycle, I drink 2 cups of water a day, and I have 3-4 hours of free time.
Is Salad/Fruit and whole wheat bread/Oatmeal the way to go for the diet part?

Best answer:

Answer by j
First off, a healthy body needs 8 cups of water a day. A stationary bike is only good for losing fat – not building muscle. Your diet should consist of fruits, vegetables, whole wheat everything (pasta, bread, ect) a good multivitamin (I use A to Zinc). Also include almonds/walnuts, lots of lean meats and egg whites.

As for a fitness plan, you haven’t provided a goal so theres no way to give a plan.

If you want to lose weight then eat well and ride your stationary bike. You can burn some 500 calories an hour with that. Get outside and run, enjoy the summer. When your at the pool, swim laps, don’t jus mess around with your buddies.

If you want to gain muscle, your gonna have to do lots of pushups, pullups, squats, lunges, crunches, situps – assuming you have no weights.

Fitness is 80% diet. If you can’t eat right then all the working out in the world won’t help you.

Where can I go to get a fitness plan with certain goals to meet that will work?

Question by Kamikaze: Where can I go to get a fitness plan with certain goals to meet that will work?
I need a solid plan that I know I’ll see results with by following it. I’ve been over training too much over the passed 4 months and haven’t seen much results. I have a friend that can pump out twice as much push ups that me and he’s only been doing them 2 months. I wait long enough for my muscles to stop being sore, but I guess that’s not enough, or maybe I’m not doing the correct amount? I need to meet goals with push ups, pull ups, running, and sit ups. I’m a 20 year old male in decent shape. I leave for the military in 2 months and need to meet these goals. I can currently do 45 push ups to exhaustion, 100+ sit ups (these aren’t of much concern), 6 maybe 7 pull ups (palms forward dead hang pull), and 12:15 1 1/2 mile. My goal is 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 20 pull ups, and 9:30 1 1/2 mile. I need to get as close as these as possible. Thank you.
