Question by sporty_gurl: Does anyone know of a diet/fitness plan that will help me get in shape for a triathlon?
I really want to start competing in triathlons but I’m not sure how to prepare for it. I’m a distance runner in track and a vegan. Is running enough to get in shape for it or should I go bike riding too? If so for how long? Thanks!

Question by clutch2313: I’m 25 and male and weigh about 145kg. I am looking for a diet and fitness plan that will help me lose weight
I wish to drop some weight relatively quickly (around 20kg in about a month) I’m looking for an eating and fitness plan that will help with this goal. Can someone point me to a website where I can get a free plan or give me a plan that will help me with this goal. Most places want to charge me upwards of 00 to help me, so I thought I would ask everyones advice.
I realise 20kg in a month is fast, I have I don’t want to do that every month as I know thats an unrealistic goal and is not healthy. I believe that amount is what I could lose with strict diet and exercise in the first month. After that though something like 1kg a week would be my goal!

Hi, I was almost the same weight as you last year, took up a program my friend recommended and am lost about 30kg. You can read about my profile if you would like to find out more.

DO NOT go to places that charge you so much to lose weight, trust me, there are better deals than that. I have tried many and many just put you on a diet routine and let you go to the gym “for free” , then when we don’t lose the weight we are suppose to lose, they tell us it’s our fault and we CAN’T prove it that it’s not ours!

Just angers me when they charge that amount. Just two simple choices, go for surgery to suck out the fats (still cost alot) or get a program that works *And follow it with your heart.

All the best.

The first thing you need to remember is not to do anything drastic that will damage your health. Healthy weight loss is between 3-5 pounds per week. To accomplish this you need to burn more calories than you take in, this is accomplished by proper diet and exercise. It is important to become a “label reader” read the nutrition facts on the label of all foods that you eat. Never go over 10 percent fat calories versus regular calories in any food and keep your carbohydrates as low as possible. A high protein low carb diet is the healthiest and best for losing weight and gaining muscle. the first link will teach you everything you need to know about the foods you need to eat and how to spot them. the second link was created by a bodybuilder to help people free. this guy is great and he hates the rip off artists that plague our industry.
stick with it and good luck.

No smoking – no beer/ale – no booze – no drugs – no junk food – no fast food garbage – no sugary sweet soda’s.
Get on a good, healthy, balanced diet including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables. Drink plenty of water, fruit juices & milk to help keep the traffic flowing. Snack on lots of RAW fruit & veggies. Never skip breakfast. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get up one hour early every morning & take a BRISK 30 minute walk – then – do the same thing again in the evening after dinner. Start doing push ups – sit ups – pull ups – skipping rope. Get 8 hours sleep each nite. Avoid stress at work & at home. Within 90 days you will be amazed. NO CHEATING !!!!!

Look if your just starting out and trying to figure out an exercises routine that works best for you then I suggest using the link I posted below. It helps you figure what fitness routine would be best for. You can try a few and then take the parts of each one that you like best and are most beneficial. That’s what I did when I started to workout and I’ve developed a few routines that I enjoy doing every time. I say a few routines because you shouldn’t be doing the same thing year round. It’s best to cycle and switch up your routine every once an a while.

Hello. fat loss can be quite confusing. What workout to use, diet etc. In fact I had more questions than answers. Then my neighbor told me to try loosing weight with the help of a website she found (see the sourcebox for it). what I liked is being able to finally get my questions answered. don’t want to take up much of your time. But they helped answer my questions and 30 pounds later I’m lovin it. Could be it’s right for you.

Best of luck to you and your goals!
