Question by alteredbeast6: How can i get the most out of a fitness plan that involves running, beating up a 100lb bag, lifting weights?
I’ve been on a fitness plan for about 2 weeks now. I run a 10min mile, which i am trying to increase to 2 miles and get them under 8min, and walk with an incline for a while. I hit a 100lb bag for 3min and alternate with three weight lifting exercises. I bench press, do squats, crunches. I just feel like I’m not getting the most out of it all. I want to get big arms and lose the spare tire around my waist.
Thanks everyone I really appreciate the help!

If you want the best results, you need to get rid of the cafeine in your diet, get rid of the refined sugar in your diet, and eat more protein. Your body will then use the stored fat and you will build muscle.

Drink plenty of water and eat healthy, natural food. Red meat should be eaten once a week. Get a good night’s sleep every night. Be sure to stretch after your workout, because it is quite intense. Don’t overwork yourself as this could be hazardous to your health. Fruits & veggies should be eaten in excess; whole-wheat grains only from the breads section. Follow these guidelines and your exercise plan will be effective.

You seem to be doing all the right things, but you also need to look at your diet. Eat more fruits and veggies, and drink more water instead of coffee and drinks that are high in sugar. You also need to cut down on foods that are high in fat, such as red meat and cheese.

Firstly I do not know how often you are doing this. The running can be quite a toll on your body if you are not accustomed to it. Hitting the 100lb bag can be use as a form of high intensity cardio training. You should be doing the hitting on different days of your weight training. Split your weight training to upper body and lower body per session. Focus on the big three movement, Bench press, squats and deadlifts. Build the strength on this 3 movement, with enough nutrition and rest. Your arms will grow like weed. Preferably up your protein intake to about 2.0grams/lb if you really want to grow bigger.
